Why does my passport rank differently on different sites?
Rankings vary because different organisations use different methodologies. Some count only visa-free destinations, others include eVisa and visa-on-arrival. VizaHunt's Travel Freedom Score is a weighted composite, not a simple count, which is why it differs slightly from raw visa-free tallies.
Can my passport ranking change during the year?
Yes. A single bilateral agreement can move a passport up or down several positions. Countries regularly update their visa policies, sometimes with just a few weeks' notice. VizaHunt updates its data monthly from official immigration sources.
What does "elite" or "premium" tier mean?
These are VizaHunt's passport tiers based on global rank: Elite (top 3), Premium (top 10), Strong (top 25), Good (top 50), Standard (top 80), and Limited (below 80). They are a quick reference for the level of global travel freedom the passport provides.
Does a higher ranking mean I can travel everywhere without a visa?
Not everywhere. Even the highest-ranked passports require a visa for some countries (for example, North Korea and a few others have near-universal visa requirements regardless of passport). A high score means very few destinations require advance planning.
How is a dual citizen's passport strength calculated?
Each passport is assessed independently. If you hold two passports, check both in this tool, you can always enter a country on whichever passport gives you the better access, and for trips requiring a visa from the other, simply use that one.
